The universe is so much more awesome, beautiful, amazing without deities! When I became deconverted, there was a brief period of existential angst, but once I figured out that I got rid a bunch of false beliefs, and am now able to accept anything that is best supported by evidence, my entire world became brighter.
See if you can find atheist and freethinker groups in your area, so you don't feel to alone with your disbelief. Support groups are very helpful.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
