Well, on the one hand, it does sort of remove the urgency from fire-and-brimstone preachers. On the other hand, considering that it appears that making Hell finite definitely makes Jehovah seem less like a complete monster.

All that said, there's no evidence for the existence of Hell outside of The Bible, so this is ultimately pointless.
