Actually, the whole Universe already ended on January the 21st 2005, and was replaced by an identical backup copy. The proof is that all our history, memories etc are of the identical Universe, exactly as they would have been for the Prime version, just as you would expect. I wrote a paper on it for the journal Astronomy and Astrophysics, but so far I haven't heard back from the editor.
