I do feel that I would have wound up more intelligent if I had been brought up to think critically. But instead I was brought up to think emotionally, even if it didnt make sense sometimes. Hard thing to fix.
I remember acting like things made sense when they didnt. I did this pretty much my entire childhood. I always acted like I understood something when I didnt, and thought maybe it was my fault I didnt get it because I was dumb or something.
The thing I remember most is the concept of heaven. I was told it was a perfect place you go when you die. But you werent supposed to want to die. I didnt understand, so I tried to convince myself that I did not want to die and go to heaven, but when I did die, I did want to go to heaven.
Now I realize the concept of heaven exists because people know they will die and are afraid, and comfort themselves by saying they are going to heaven. Heaven is just a consequence of the fear of death. It all makes sense now.
