It took me a lifetime to work out the moral and ethical issues in the Bible, because some of them are really tricky.
When you first read, you naturally judge by your experiences and attitudes, and when something is irreconcilable with what you think is ethical, then you are faced with the task of working out the truth or rejecting it.
I remember I had a real issue with the execution of women and children, (as if it's ok to kill a man !)
And there are many examples of what I thought were total miscarriages of justice...
For example. there was this city whose inhabitants declared war on Israel. Some of these cultures lived for war, and would do it only for the sake of it.
God told Israel to create a scene where their armies were to flee, only to ambush the city from another angle.
Every human being in that city came out after the Israelites, man, woman AND CHILD, sorry, but there were no children at all, the children were systematically sacrificed as part of their lifestyle, if one can call it that, so that they could have their rituals without the care for their offspring. Really cruel practices. All the children were already dead.
God ordered them all to be wiped out - their whole culture was to disappear from off the face of the earth. Including its diseased and neglected animal life, because the people had sex with the poor confused animals, and they sacrificed them as well. Then the city was to be burned to the ground.
Many of these cultures, would select the children in their infancy, through various rituals such as "passing through the fire."
The intelligent and sensitive child, would most likely be the one who is aware of the danger, would hesitate to run through the flames, it would be killed (sacrificed) as a failure, it wasn't 'brave.'
This method of selection, gradually wiped out the intelligent genes in the race, until the nation consisted of pure warmongering brutes.
When a culture reached this stage after decades and even centuries of rebellion against the God of heaven, they were terminated - all of them, with their thickened offspring.
The Israelites were also so thick that they too practiced cruel pagan rituals, and that's when the baby loving God would allow them to be taken captive by the surrounding nations.
What happens to the innocent children which died under these "abominations" ?
They will be resurrected and have a safe place in heaven, when the time comes. Angels and human families will adopt them and raise them.
But this is not directly mentioned in the Bible, because it is one of the teachings of those who practice sacrificing babies (even today) that the (murdered) child is saved by the ritual, and goes to heaven. Despite that hideous excuse, they hurt the baby, raping it, cutting off its limbs, peeling back its skin while alive and burning it, etc.
The specific organisations which have been doing this for centuries, and still do so today in secret, (over 60,000 every year in the US) are headed by the Vatican, which hides under the cloak of 'Christianity' through the Roman Catholic church system, which is subdivided into many secret societies, as well as major organisations world wide, including Freemasons, business giants and the world banks. All religion and all politics are infested by the same system.
There are millions of well meaning people in religious and political institutions who will be made aware of this, and they will be given a special sign and opportunity to stand up against this, as they already are doing, as the corruptions of the highest orders are being exposed.
Child sexual abuse cases are only the tip of the iceberg. These are the ones who lived to tell.

Then we might like to ask the question, if a whole society is full of abusers, and there is not one righteous, does God have to right to drown them by billions, as in Noah's day?
