Part of the meaning of having a perfectly Holy and perfectly Just nature means that there is no choice that God makes about what to do with sin. It just is the way it is because it is part of God's unchangeable nature.
Regarding hell, you missed the sentence "Weeping and gnashing of teeth" are metaphors to the pain caused by complete separation from God." The description of such a condition in the Bible is not at all pleasant. Also, it seems it might be a stretch to imagine that an immaterial soul can communicate with other immaterial souls--so I wouldn't count on "kicking back with atheists".
So, you'll just be floating around heaven without communicating too? Sounds a lot like hell.
Except there are dozens of passages that talk about being given new bodies that do not have the failings of our current one. https://www.gotquestions.org/look-like-in-Heaven.html
