Vor, the issue is a bit like the Hong Kong thing..which trump also fucked up.  It's not an ideological litmus test.  Yes, US politicians are broadly supportive of isreal for reasons™.  Everybody knows this.  It;s an open secret, just a our support for Hong Kong is an open secret.  

So..crazies.  Crazies and craven panderers, left and right.  None of them, however, were dumb enough to say the thing you don't say or do the thing you don't do - like trump obviously is on both counts in this and pretty much any other regard.

Ahead of Trump announcement, Kremlin says issue of Jerusalem ‘not easy’
The Kremlin is also concerned about US President Donald Trump’s expected announcement recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
The move could upend decades of US policy and risk potentially violent protests in the Middle East where the Arab Muslim majority is strongly opposed to the idea.
Speaking to reporters in Moscow, President Vladimir Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov says that the “the situation is not easy.”
He says Putin discussed the issue with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas late last night and expressed his concern about “a possible deterioration.”
Peskov says, however, that the Kremlin would refrain from commenting on a decision that has not been announced yet.
