Okay, so. . .
I have about 20 employees, and this shit is not even an exaggeration. Not a little bit. Not satire.
Me to new teacher: I haven't scheduled classes for you yet, so you can observe the other teachers today. You start with David.
New teacher: So. . . I don't have my own classes?
Me: That's right. For now, you will observe and learn.
NT: The contract says I have to teach up to 6 hours, but it doesn't say anything about having to observe anyone.
Me: Ummmm. . . Okay, so do you just want to go ahead and start teaching?
NT: weelllll. . . since I don't have any classes anyway, can I take a break? I haven't had lunch yet. (It's now 2:25 pm, 5 minutes before the first class of the day starts)
Me: You haven't done anything yet, so you don't really need a break. Please go observe the class, and we can talk about the classes after I'm done with my own.
NT: I feel like you aren't hearing me. Are you always so hostile? I thought you were going to be a nice boss.
Me: I've instructed you to observe a class. Are you going to do it, or not?
NT: Listen to meeeee. You're getting mad, you're not listening to meeee.
Me: Classes are starting right now. I literally have to run to start my class. Go observe, and we'll talk about this later.
NT: But. . . my breeeaaaak. You aren't LISTENING! I want you to listen to why I shouldn't have to work right now.
Me: Go to class, or you're done.
NT: Listeennnnnnnn.
Me: So. . . are you giving notice?
NT: Okay. . . I'll give you 2 days' notice. If you're going to be like this, I'm going to take another job. I'll be out of the apartment you provided in a couple weeks, ok?
Me: You are required by the contract and your visa stipulations to give a months' notice.
NT: Well. . . I think let's just finish today then. And don't forget to pay me for the full day, since this is all your fault. I'll let you know when I'm done with the apartment so you can bring in a new teacher.
Me: If you're not going to do your job, then get your shit out of the fucking apartment by midnight, or I'll have the cops do it for you.
NT: OMG I can't believe what a monster you are. I just wanted you to LISTEN!!! *shrieks* . . . well. . . at least I think you better give me a letter of reference so I can get another job. You owe me at least that much, right?
NOT. . . FUCKING. . . EXAGGERATING. This happened.
