You're probably the first christian I've heard of that didn't make that claim. There's usually some verse my community touts where Jesus said he existed before his birth through Mary, then there's the whole trinity thing. But even if Jesus isn't the same guy, he still worshiped the god of the old testament. Which is barely a step down from being the same dude.
