She said there are both legitimate women's issues AND legitimate men's issues. And that she supports BOTH. She doesn't mention the word equalitarianism, but that's what she described in the end.
My issue was when she said this:
Quote:"It's no secret now that I no longer call myself a feminist..."
Why not? Just because she discovered MRAs have a point? Why stop calling herself a feminist? I didn't really criticize her for it, but I did point out that it was odd. After all, the thrust of her argument was that MRAs are not opposed to feminism but are rather focusing on men's causes that need attention.
That's what I was saying before... If you advocate for more fairness in custody hearings, you are a men's rights activist. If your view is that "feminism has gone too far" this does nothing to advance men's issues-- it is just standing in the way of women's advancement. One is actual men's rights activism. The other is not.
My bold
From what i understand it's because she now advocates both men's and women's issues, rather than just focusing on one side of the fence. She dropped the title of feminism for a more general form of gender equality.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
