Maybe use formatting to your advantage? You added the but directly after your statement to me. If it wasn't directed at me, maybe a paragraph break would have helped.

It sounds an awful lot like you're arguing a point I never made and that is entirely irrelevant to any of the points I've made. I never started this balancing act of whose issues are worse.
Well, gosh, I didn't realize I was submitting for publication. I was just adding a couple of thoughts in the hope of getting opinions, rather than editing tips.
Oh well, you go on with your own thang then, I'll stop trying to discuss this any more.
