I'm not surprised in the slightest if conservatives are more likely to be attractive.
If you are shallow and judge other people on their appearance then you will also expect to be judged so yourself. This means that you are more likely to make a lot of effort into looking more attractive, feeling more confident believing that you are attractive and confidence is attractive in its own right.
Conservatives are more likely to take things as they appear. This is why they are more likely to conform to blend in, believe what authority figures tell them and less likely to think through issues affecting minorities unless it affects them directly.
