In the end, it all comes down to whether or not you can accept such a disgusting tool of a God by rationalizing his inadequacies away.
Oh, he can't forgive? Oh, he won't change his mind but still loves us? Jesus.
He created hell and Satan, and countless deaths due to suffering that occurs daily, and he is supposedly the source of much everyday suffering as it is obviously only "just" punishment, but He is all loving? An obvious logical contradiction. The believer would likely only reply with a "You can't understand God..." statement, but even that implies that he made me so it would be my nature to deny Him.\
He cannot send non-believers to hell, but make them at the same time, assuming he is omnibenevolent.
I see salty used the free will defence. He cannot interfere due to our free will, in summary. Pathetic. Then how can he punish us? How can Satin harass us? How can miracles occur, and biblical maricles be witnessed? How can heaven exist as a place of both free will and perfection? That implies that God is capable of making a perfect world where there is no suffering, or could also submit to heaven's nonexistance.
All in all, most arguments for a Christian God can be defeated my only the slightest reasoning.

My conclusion is that there is no reason to believe any of the dogmas of traditional theology and, further, that there is no reason to wish that they were true.
Man, in so far as he is not subject to natural forces, is free to work out his own destiny. The responsibility is his, and so is the opportunity.
