No, I am saying that the authors take a simple concept and wrap it in a complicated one to hype it up. The connection to entropy is forced: it is much simpler to say exactly what has been done by saying the brain shows more correlations (not even more actual connections) when awake.
So, once again, they did this with 9 subjects. At the very least that is way too small to reach any conclusions.
Second, they over-complicate their results by bringing in entropy when the simpler description is both more accurate and has less hype. This makes me question their motives and honesty..
Now, there *may* be a connection between entropy and consciousness. I think it would be way cool if there is. But this study doesn't show it. Not even close.
