When we moved to Arizona in 2005 my real estate taxes went from $16,800 to $1,410. Of course, the schools are shitty out here but hey, real estate taxes are low.
70k is still objectively “enough.” No one is starving in that salary.
I'd argue that too. BUT, it still remains that the top, bitching about taxes is absurd. America's top earners at one point had a 90% pre deduction rate that ended up being after deductions about 50%. After WW2 during the boom that created the middle class.
70k certianly isn't starving no. But it will only get worse long term if we keep allowing uber billionaires to falsely point this out.
Half of 40 billion is 20 billion, if we are talking Walmart family Bill Gates numbers. BUT half of 70k is 35k.
Point is the argument from the economic right has used this crap of "you make enough". When the real push back should be to uber billionaires is "NO YOU MAKE ENOUGH".
My mom made enough for both of us. My point would be if she can do that for me, as a retired teacher and single mom, why are dickeads like 45 and the Kochs and Walmart bitching?
