Generals always think the solution is war..it doesn't matter where (or what culture) they're from. So, too, weapons manufacturers see war as opportunity. The "western" fat cat is no more or less evil than their middle eastern counterparts.
You mischaracterize "westerners" being self critical of our history. We are institutionally hyper-critical. It's not just a few of us, it's the fabric of our historical narrative. You're the one bullshitting people incessantly about the glory and justice of the ummah. Every american knows that what happened to the natives was fucked up, because that's what we teach our children, as a counterpoint.
So clean your own house..ours is in order, at least on that count.
