I don't know. Doctor Manhattan and Rorschach (not necessarily super on Rorschach's part, but you know what I mean) were pretty modern.

I mean the concept of a superpowered hero . And to be fair if we factor people like Jason who was a mere mortal but still a hero (like Rorschach ) . I think the comparison fits.
