This goes without saying.)If a person believes in a deity it's generally stupid to die for the sake of saving other people. After all, the deity wanted them dead for its own purpose which is why their lives were put in jeopardy in the first place.
I don't see it as a story of sadism at all, and neither is that the intended Christian message of the story. The story is of self giving love, and dying for the sake of saving other people. You personally may take it as sadism, but that isn't the intended message being protrayed whatsoever.
Anyway, I'm glad you don't think we are sadistic. Thats good. I'm also glad I was able to clear up the misconception you had that Easter is the celebration of His death. Hopefully other things have been cleared up too.
The story about Yeshua being a sacrifice for your sins is actually against biblical teachings. In the old days the Yahweh character told the dummies that they had to sacrifice their first borns. He said that the reason he did that was to show the dummies that it was a stupid thing for them to do and that they should have told him to shove it up his butt.
Paul cooked up the human sacrifice theme as a way to sell his resurrection religion. The resurrection belief was imported from the East and was never discussed in the Old Testament except for some long dead bones being reanimated.
Which group of people benefits the most from dummies believing in their silly ethnocentric religious fairy tales? Most of the persistent theists on the forums are probably their agents who constantly reinforce the idea that the dummies can be saved and get eternal life if they they believe in a magical zombie. Consequently such beliefs influence our domestic and international affairs, mostly to our own disadvantage.
Hell, even the Bible says that a dummy shouldn't believe in silly Jewish fairy tales. Are there any that are not silly?
