Stephen Hawking applied quantum mechanics to black holes. It's how they evaporate (slowly).

Hawking is even able to explain the spectra of his Hawking Radiation as being related to the mass of the black hole.


The most massive objects detected in the universe are subject to quantum mechanical annihilation !!!
