Quote:Two elements of the “Great Compromise” among the large and small states led to the ratification of the Constitution.
Times change, Adolf. In 1789 the population difference between states was:
Total 1790 census 3.8 million
Largest state: Virginia 747,000 *
Smallest state: Delaware: 59,000
* but that includes 292,000 slaves... you know, the good old days! Thanks to that slaves were considered 3/5 of a person. Nice going.
Now, of course, things have changed. We have the absurd situation where Wyoming has two senators with a population of 579,000 whereas California has a population of 39,54 million.
There are parts of the constitution which have outlived their usefulness. Along with the second amendment!
You think its great because it overvalues the votes of rural, white, shitkickers.
