I think you're selling yourself short, anyway. You care a little bit, right? You wouldn't watch somebody do something horrible to someone right in front of you, at least? What we can where we can when we can...and if it;s bad enough we might even go out of our way, yeah?
yes that's true, when bad things happen right in front of me I do care. Just not about 99.9... % of the bad things happening in the world. Maybe I care a little but not really, not compared to someone I care about getting hurt or something bad happening to me, there's no comparison.
