I wanna keep my ideas simple and short.
Our "main" purpose in life, is to reproduce and have our species go on.
Our purpose as humans, is to have offspring and raise them well enough to have offspring of their own.
After all, we are animals.
We are here because our parents had sex and created us and so on.
That is our purpose. That's how we evolve. What other purpose could there be?
People try to tell me that living life to the fullest, and being a nice person is our purpose in life.
Those could be personal goals and all, but what will that accomplish 100 years from now, 200 years, 1000 years from now.
If your ancestors from 1000 years ago did not have any kids, you would not exist as we know it today.
Those are my thoughts ^.^
Your purpose is not to procreate any more than the purpose of water is to go over the edge of niagra falls.
The concept of "purpose" is a mental construct that promotes goal directed activity in oneself, and better recognize and anticipate the consequences of goal directed activities in others.
Like all evolutionary products, this neural-behavioral construct called "purpose" is barely good enough to improve survival odds in an environment to which it was exposed for a long enough time to develop.
So keep in mind what "purpose" is, why do you think just because you feel an crude neurological urge to associate it with something, it really make sense, or possess robust explanatory power, to do so???
You have no purpose in life, other than what you make for yourself. What you make could come in the form of projecting yourself onto an imaginary diety, or in the form of something else.
