It was not a threat.  The caliphate -did- engage in slave raids, utilizing slave armies, deep into territories that posed no threat and had no animosity or other contact with them based upon thew market value of the women as judged by standards of beauty at the time.  Thy also purchased these sex working human chattel from other slaving cultures that -did- attack them whenever the price was right and demand exceeded supply.  The quran offered the justification for this trade in the form of an exhortation to buy and fuck a slave if you couldn't afford (or did not have the personal disposition) to have a wife in the manner prescribed by magic book.

Is that allahs justification for his own approval of sex trafficking and slavery?  That the us does bad shit too...or would, thirteen hundred years later?  Following that logic..would it be good and just in the eyes of allah if the us stole the daughters of islam for the twin towers attacks, sold them into slavery, and fucked the piss out of them?  How else would we deter them from future attacks, and don;t they deserve it for what their fathers did or supported, and because they believe in glory in death on the field of battle as martyrs?  Maybe we'll even set them free when they're all used up and we don't want them anymore.  Or..maybe for some future attack that hasn't happened yet.....enslaving the daughters of an entirely different people?
