Ok you are sounding a little judgemental. My husband and I are two consenting adults, love each other very much, and we try new stuff together all the time. Doesn't mean we don't like to try new stuff solo. There are some video games we both like, music we both listen to, movies, tv shows, hobbies, etc and there are ones we do by ourselves. To us this is no different. Just because you think a marriage needs to stay in the lines for thirty years doesn't mean all marriages have to.
It's not a must it's simply one factor. We tell each other everything that happens and we read the sext messages so it's not like there is an actual rush for cheating. It's more of a rush of doing something on the down low cause it's not something everyone knows. Sure I'm open about it on this site but in real life only one of my friends and two of his know. Once he was meeting this girl somewhere at a coffee shop (they were both texting me and she sent me pictures of them making out) and he saw a friend that knew he was married so he had to pretend he was just getting coffee innocently with her. Not because he was cheating and it would get back to me but because most people would judge us.
