I don't think anyone is saying that. Obviously you can have ink on your body and still portray a clean cut image. But in order to do that, you need to cover that shit up.

Correct, it is an opinion. It is an opinion which is based on the fact that many employers have policies which forbid visible tattoos. Even more have policies which require any visible tattoos to be non-offensive. So yeah, depending on the circumstances, if you want to portray a clean cut image, you need to cover that shit up.
