IKR? Squeezed between egypt and babylon after a long occupation by assyrians...trying to contextualize their abject defeat and the dissolution of their urban centers by transportation...it's no wonder that a hodgepodge of religious and cultural syncretism combined with hope for a better future produced the book it did.
What -is- wonderful..is that some random joe in a first world country twenty six hundred years later clings to that myth like it were the word of god..or something. Meanwhile, jewgod has no love for this christer. He's gonna send a supersoldier to earthto destroy him, utterly crush his family and country under foot, and establish a davidic kingdom on earth. All in retaliation for the shame and indignity suffered by his chosen master race.
I;d ask what place the ethnocentric religious politics of 587bc has in todays world, or why a christian (presumably an american christian) would truck it........but then I remember the last few years.
