So I'm gonna repost something I posted on CF, just because I think my humor was lost on them:
OP Wrote:It seems everywhere I look these days, the left is constantly wanting new entitlements. When those of us on the right say we can't afford that stuff, we're told that we just need to increase taxes on the wealthy.
"They just need to pay their fair share!" they say, as if the rich aren't paying enough. But that doesn't match up with reality.
In fact, the top 40% of earners in this country pay 106% of the taxes! The bottom 40% pay -9%. Yes, you read that right. NEGATIVE NINE PERCENT!
Those on the top tax bracket paid 69% of all the taxes.
vulcanlogician Wrote:I see what you're saying [OP], it's gotten really bad with taxes. Nobody wants to be rich anymore. Nobody! I have friends who work two jobs and struggle to make ends meet, but they're like "At least we're not billionaires who have to pay all those taxes." I see their point, too. Remember a while back when nobody claimed that winning powerball ticket? That was my friend. I was with her when she found out her ticket had the winning numbers. She immediately set it on fire and told us to never speak of it. Nobody wants to be rich anymore. Too many taxes. Thank God I'm broke.
