Only suggesting that if your own lines of rationalization in this long..long thread are compelling to you...then they should be compelling to you...but they;re not..and is it surprising that they aren;t compelling to us, then?
In any case, the people who wrote your magic book were heavily influenced by it, you;d find many of the themes familiar...as I;ve mentioned previously in thread. The psychopomp, pageantry, and professions of virtue and faith are lifted very nearly word for word. We know why..and we know when it happened. It was recurrent, too, fun times. First bleeding into the henotheism that forms the basis of magic book..and coming back round again after the fall of egypt during the early christian period through alexandrian thought.
