Yup. I was a Machinist's Mate. I hear tell that the MM rating had the BT rating folded into it (long after I got out- '76), so one could go to MM "A" school and actually end up a Boiler Tech. That's probably the worst job in the Navy, IMO...until the turd chasers (HTs) actually had to tend to sanitary facilities, instead of ships just blowing the shit over the side, in port.
