Words and cultural differences

RE: Words and cultural differences
I guess it's an old fashioned thing, at least where I work and where I live in general, women are treated as more delicate and as if they will be more easily offended than men.

In my work a standard man greeting to another man is "Alright you ugly cunt? You look like you put on weight."  That wouldn't make anyone flutter an eyelid.  If someone said that to a woman there'd be uproar.

I tend to go along with this, I can take it as a joke and it doesn't affect my self confidence. I know the women I know would be more offended by things like this so I don't do it, they're pretty nice to me so I'm pretty nice to them. I suppose I might drop the C bomb if a woman was horrible to me for some reason.

As for racial slurs there's a hierarchy of offense in my culture. Nigger is at the top, followed by paki, then whatever else, kyke, chink, cracker, honkey.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.
