I seem to remember reading that some contemporary biblical scholars are now convinced the Epistles attributed to Paul were written by not less than two people. (same for John of Patmos, but I think that may have been known a lot longer)
As far as I know about the authorship of the books of the New Testament, only 1 & 2 Corinthians, Romans, Philippians, Philemon and 1 Thessalonians are in the opinion of the majority of scholars to have been written by Paul or at least all penned by the same author. The other epistles traditionally attributed to Paul were written by authors other than the one who wrote those epistles.
Quote:I still run across Christians who argue the Gospels were written by four of Jesus' disciples. Have always thought that would have been a really impressive miracle, seeing as they were almost certainly all dead at the time.
Strange since the New Testament did not consider Mark and Luke Jesus disciples.

I believe the book of 1, 2, 3& 4 Maccabes portray the Greeks and their Jewish supporters in a unfavorably light. Perhaps Mel Gibson will portray them in a more favorably light and portray Judas Maccaebus and crew as a 2nd century BC version of the Taliban.
