"You make me shill like I'm the only troll in the world..."
What exactly am I shilling for? I think he's still under the impression that atheism is some sort of alternative institution to Christianity.
I don't care if life is designed. I don't care if God exists. I don't care if Christianity is true. I don't expect anyone to agree with me just because I say so. I make it very clear I do not have all the answers. I don't care what religions or beliefs people have as long as they don't hurt people or tell other people what to do.
I am able to provisionally accept all scientific theory as probably true, without having to omit parts that don't line up with my dogma (because I don't have any, as far as I'm aware). If any of them happen to be wrong, I don't care on a personal level. It's not going to affect how I treat people. I'll just be interested in finding out what the replacements/amendments to the theories are, as things progress. I have confidence (but not certainty) in scientific theory because I understand the scientific method. I know all theories are falsifiable, and that people whose job it is to falsify them, and who will get great prestige for doing so, are working really hard to find problems (both before and after a hypothesis is promoted to a theory).
