Let's lay it out one more time:

Being an atheist means you don't believe in gods. That's it. You can believe in whatever other nonsense you want. You can believe the universe was created yesterday by the ghost of your future self. Whatever. You can believe bananas are magic and they keep the water wet. You can believe you're trapped in a computer game. (That last one is probably true anyhow.)

Atheism demands no default beliefs about anything else, including the origin of the universe. Each individual atheist believes whatever they want, so it's best to ask instead of creating a straw man.
