So my Hispanic neighbors I paid to clear the remaining jungle of my back yard. 95% of it was destroyed by putting in the new septic tank, not by them, but the trailer company
But the last 5% still, was a fucking mess, weeds and vines and stubborn pine trees around the parameter of the yard. It literally looks now like a contracted stick built lot. I merely hate all the sand that is around now that gets in the air, thus in my mouth when I am outside.
Today it started to thunder and lightening on their second day of work. It cleared up just enough, and let me tell you, they were not about to quit. I asked them yesterday if they wanted my help, but they said no, being polite. But today, I couldn't take it, I looked at the even bigger task than the front yard which was small, I jumped in and got my hands dirty with them. I simply hate feeling useless, even when I am paying.
Even the wife was in on it and let me tell you, she was stronger than me! I am lazy I have to admit, but right now, I can afford to be. But when I look at the determination of other fellow human beings, it really confirms that we are NOT that different. They came here looking for a better life, and that is what all of migration has been in our entire species history.
