Yes. I remember driving up from DC with my father and my cousin. We'd swing onto 123rd street and about 13 people would surround the car. They'd yank the back door, drag me out and my cousin Ebony picked me up and threw me down in the middle of the street uncle George said "Lord have mercy. Ya'll gone kill the poor child." One big happy family, New York style.
