In 1941 Senator Gerald P. Nye chaired a committee to investigate the possible Jewish control of Hollywood studios. This was based on the fact that movies showed the English in a favorable light. (Ward Bond played a seriously serious Nazi.)  They met in Sept. and adjourned when it was discovered that none of the committee members had seen ANY of the movies under suspicion. The committee was scheduled to reconvene in January of 1942. Didn't happen for some reason or other. Police are call it "suspicious".
