You’re going to get sexual abuse in many organisations.
The nature of the organisation is shown by the way the handle it. The good ones go to the authorities.
The bad/immoral ones cover it up.
The RCC, at least between 1962 and 2001, had a specific procedure for dealing with it and one of the most galling things about it was that, since it was treated as Confession, anyone who spoke about it afterward risked excommunication from the church. Is it strange that I find myself wanting to tell the Church that they fucked up the way one of their own sacraments is supposed to work?

Then again, we all know it’s the scandal that bothers the higher ups more than the act itself.
To me, such an organisation falls into the spectrum of “needs to have its assets frozen, be thoroughly investigated, and dismantled”.
