Yes. Everything is hard to say for certain without evidence. As an atheist I always want evidence of things.
No belief without evidence is almost an atheist mantra. Unfortunately when it comes to Trump, lots of people on here believe all kinds of unsubstantiated things without evidence.
For example, this story. What you have is an ex-employee who said that she heard there is a tape where Trump says nigger. She hasn't heard the tape personally, nor heard Trump use the word personally.
That isn't evidence that's worth spit and nobody would ever accept second hand heresay as evidence when it comes to a politician they like. But because it's Trump, you now have people on this board who are certain that such a tape exists.
I hate Trump just as much as you guys, I really do. Im a single issue voter on foriegn policy, and Trump has a truly frightening foriegn policy. I also disagree with him on most of his other politics.
But I don't suspend my need for good evidence, what made me an atheist to start just because I don't like la politician.
The second thing that people will bring up is a pattern of behavior and statements that makes it likely. But when Brian presented his pattern of behavior, it's full of rumors and out of context claims. For example the often cited 'Trump called Mexicans rapists' which isn't even true. What he said was that there were rapists amoungst illegal immigrants, along with some good people. That's a far cry from what's claimed as evidence.
So if the pattern of behavior, for me, needs to be rock solid and built on good evidence too. I can see how someone who thinks Trump said "all Mexicans are rapists" would think he is dropping n-bombs. But since that's not what he said, I remain skeptical.
Or you have the other one, where people claim he called Nazis good people. Which again, just isn't true. He said there were good people who wanted to keep the statue of Robert E. Lee in place. Having lived in the south before, that's undoubtedly true. While you can debate about the validity of that, it's a far cry from calling Nazis good people. So once again, if you believe Trump called Nazis good people, I can see how you'd think he's dropping n-bombs. But since that's not really what happened, I need a more clear pattern of behavior.
So I'll suspend my judgement until further evidence is in. As all rational thinking people should do.
