Yeah. Don't do that, man. If you post something on here, that's on YOU. You are responsible for your own posts, not FM.
Did it ever occur to you that some people come here for support in their darkest hour? People do that on Christian forums, too, don't they? There's nothing wrong with that.
And you've had to have frequented Christian forums before, Huggy. There are some real loons out there. Somebody posted some shit from facebook not too long ago where this guy's FB username was "Eradicate all Atheists. Bring back God." Say what you will about depressed atheists, but we don't have anything resembling a fuckjob like that! For every depressed atheist contemplating suicide, I can show ten "upright theists" contemplating homicide.
What about the trolls who create accounts here and spew their insane gospel in all caps? What the fuck is wrong with them? Does Christianity make them do that?
I think the takeaway here is that you can't make sweeping judgements about an entire worldview just because you can demonstrate that some of its adherents have personal problems. That is the essence of the ad hominem fallacy and it proves absolutely nothing.
There a quote from the Apostle Paul that states "If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable." In other words, if there was no assurance of an after life then there is no point to the life we currently live, and this realization of vanity results in depression.
It is my opinion that the majority of atheists having convinced themselves that no afterlife exists, have in turn become "of all men most miserable".

Quote:On 28 April 1642, Newport married Lady Diana Russell, fourth daughter of Francis Russell, 4th Earl of Bedford at St Giles in the Fields, London, and had by her five daughters and four sons. Newport died aged 88 in Twickenham and on his deathbead, he wailed in anguish:
Oh, that I could lie for a thousand years upon the fire that is never quenched, to purchase the favor of God and be united to Him again. But it is a fruitless wish. Millions and millions of years will bring me no nearer the end of my torments than one poor hour. Oh, eternity, eternity forever and forever! Oh, the insufferable pangs of Hell!
He was buried in St Andrew's Church, Wroxeter, two weeks later and was succeeded in his titles by his oldest son Richard. His younger son Thomas was raised to the Peerage of England in his own right.

You want me to to copy and paste the whole article? It's not like I didn't put up the link so you could go peruse at your leisure...
