IOW, there's a risk of deplorable complacency, lol.
I worry about posting things that suggest we're headed for a "blue wave," for fear that doing so will encourage people to be more complacent and not vote like they did in 2016. I don't censor what I post on that account, but I hope Democrats will have learned their lesson from 2016 and not assume a victory. So there's a risk of complacency on both sides, perhaps more substantially with respect to the left.
Yea, outside Hillary picking the wrong VP, and not hitting the swing states, I agree, I think part of that loss was over confidence and may have caused just enough complacency.
But not sure that is going to be the case this time. 45 is on TV every damned day pissing off the left. But, I do remind people every day not to be complacent.
I think the left is starting to do what they gave up on during the Reagan era. I think we are growing to take every day and every November seriously. The GOP has consistently won more on average since Reagan because they think every day and plan long term. If the left does that we can beat the GOP. But, we have to want it.
That might be part of his tactic too. Get the left to think, "There is no way after all that" to create that complacency. I think 16 was a one trick pony and we got burned really bad and I don't think that many on the left have forgotten.
There has been an uptick in liberal voter registrations and lots more liberals, especially women running this year.
Yea we cannot afford to be complacent.
