Biden isn't going down

Hate to say it but if nothing he says or do short of some extreme scandal will have him drop badly in polls, Biden is winning the nomination no matter what non-Biden supporters hope or think.
Oh and a lot of Bernie supporters on the Bernie Reddit are delusional as fuck. People aren't going to eventually magically gravitate to Bernie in large numbers, since he already has high name recognition and is doing relatively poorly in the polls inspire of that. People who are still shopping around looking for the right candidate don't want Bernie.

While I suspect you're right that Biden will be the nominee, it's hardly a lock. The toughest person Biden is running against is Biden. It's his to lose.

I feel ominous undertones of Hilary there. It's a sad state of affairs when the US is presented with a Democrat candidate with a resume that only has to say, "But at least (s)he's not Trump!" My wife didn't like Hilary, neither did I. But Trump!?
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

It almost disgusts me that people vote based on these sorts of shallow thinking, but it is what it is, sad to say.

This sort of shallow thinking from the perspective of ideological correctness is what enable some progress to be made. Deep thinking not only maximizing the chances that even minimum progress will be forestalled, but pave the way for past progress to be reversed.
To achieve ideals, it is often necessary to disguise what your idea is, and take the most indirect and duplicitous route to get there, using as many lies, ruses, set as many traps, assassinate as much character ruin as many lives as needed along the way.
This is political reality in the US.
The depth that counts is that of discipline and purposeful cunning, not that of forthright idealism.

It' still too early to predict either way. But I also don't yet see who takes him out. Hillary was somewhat unlucky to only have had Bernie to run against. Anyone who didn't like Hillary had only one place to go in the Democratic nomination process. The more liberal side of the party is splitting their votes with only Biden really left as a viable moderate alternative. The September debate will clear away some of the noise from people who have no chance at the nomination. I'd say we'll know how strong Biden is when the field gets down to 3-4 or less candidates.

I figure at best Biden will win, and we'll get another 4-8 years of Obama policy. At worst he'll pull a Hillary, and fail in the general, because it isn't as easy to rig against better candidates as the primary.
