Admittedly true, especially considering that Marx’s ideas were relevant mostly to an Industrial Age Europe, and Russia and China weren’t really Industrial yet, and I think I read somewhere that Marx himself said that if a pre-industrial society tried to put his ideas into practice, things would be disastrous. And so, Marxism-Leninism and Maoism changed the origina, doctrine to suit their own political climate.
But the fact remains that those nations that were willing to evolve, consider Marx’s ideas on their own merits, and adopt the most reasonable policies, were able to inoculate themselves from the more out-there ideas and avert a full-blown Communist revolution.
