That's dumb, conservatives want to change a lot about our society.

No, they want to undo change. That's a different beast.
Even the wealth redistribution back to the wealthy is going backwards, undoing the modern changes made and returning to older societal models.

I can think of nothing they want, socially or fiscally, that isn't in this category. They want no new changes.

Free trade. I'd say a lot of the trade policies of conservatives and many of their tax scemes are untried and new.
