45 is behaving like one. I think conservatives outside congress even judges like him, wouldn't see themselves as such, but follow 45 because they see it as a path back to the good old days when white Christians controlled the driver's seat to the bus.
If you look at human behavior in our species history, the gatekeepers fear change, the majority in that society fears change.
That isn't an excuse, but an explanation.
The worst part for conservatives that they do not understand, when making the argument "Christian nation", just like Saudi Arabia and Iran, whom say "Muslim nation" Is that that seeming majority, if it gets what it wants, the powers will start going after even them.
Krapengual probably does not see himself as a fascist, but regardless, he is still being put into a position to potentially protect a despot wannabe because he panders to religious conservatives.
Still scary any way you want to argue it.
