And especially after Washington refused the offer to become a king himself, allowing a president to pardon themselves for anything would be ultimately putting that man in a position of having absolute power, if not a future president.
Just like I'd bet not every county, city municipality has a law against cannibalism, most have laws against defiling a dead body. Do you kneed a law on the books to know murdering against their will to eat them is wrong?
It should go without saying that in a country where nobody is above the law that a President should not have the power of pardoning themselves. There is no point in having checks on power if the president can have that power. This is fucking stupid.
