Honestly, I think Hollywood should stick to short stories for feature films. The really complex stories can only very rarely be told in a two hour format. They wind up leaving so much out that they end up telling a different story.
Of course, my opinion on the matter won't stop them from doing it, but I gave up watching movies based on books I've read a long time ago.
