I cannot fathom any scenario in which someone, when presented with a statement of fact, is not entitled to ask where the supposed fact came from. When a factual assertion is made about scientific studies, then it is very obvious to me that one should immediately ask "What study? Where can I find this information?"
Khemikal made his assertions in a very particular context-- in berating "scientific racists" for failing to present specific statistical information which contradicted their biased views. He then followed up on this accusation with a rather ironic refusal to present that same information despite perhaps a dozen requests to do so, and even a financial incentive for doing so.
"Scientific racists, whom I hate with a passion, refuse to present this information. . . and so do I, and you can't make me!"
I mean. . . it feels like a particularly boring episode of the Twilight Zone.
