Are there any Christian proselytizers left in this subforum?

I'm not here to debate whether or not a god exists.  

Actually, the one thing I've always found disappointing about these boards is that people who know alot about alot of cultures gods have nothing to say.  Those conversations don't happen.  They're eclipsed by stupid arguments as to whether or not fairies are really real.

You can debate and discuss all sorts of things here, dude. Just between you and I, we've discussed metaphysics, ethics, epistemology, and the Appalachian lifestyle.

Yup.  All aided and abetted by the fact that you have no need to assert the existence of a theistic god.  Our interactions don't go like those interactions do.  Eh?

Nowhere...acceptably.  Undue deference strikes again.  Here again, though, I don't mind that this may be what you or some other person comes here to do..I'm simply indicating that I have no interest, because it's not an open question as far as I'm concerned.  

THIS is the appropriate place for such debates, and such debates must transpire if we are to move forward as a people.

Isn't it interesting that those debates can only happen where there is no theist hegemony?  Where there is...you'll get burned (literally) or banned.  Yet another example of why the world would be better in their absence.  

Where else might these debates transpire? Christian forums? No. Those people are too cowardly to invite rigorous questioning into their midst. Philosophy forums? Well, if you ever want to post a question on a philosophy forum, you'd better know your Hegel... or (at the very least) be a pretentious enough cunt to think your knowledge of Hegel will answer the question of God's existence.

So where else might we have the debate over God's existence? On college campuses, certainly. But we're talking about online places here.

Wherever you like, if you ask me...I just don't consider them to be legitimate debates.  I'm a gnostic atheist, in addition to an antitheist, member?  May as well debate the existence of oxygen, as far as I'm concerned.  

HERE: that is the place to have the debate over whether God exists. And until Tibs or the majority of staff proclaims otherwise, I say it is entirely useful for this debate to continue on these forums.

You forget that there are critical thinking theists out there who are atheists in every regard but they were cursed with white trash parents. THEY don't want to join a forum where everything is monotone; everyone agrees that Yahweh is a myth. THEY want to explore an ongoing discussion of God's existence and relevance. This forum should be a place for THEM too. Not just you.

Good for them.  This forum exists.....but it doesn't change my opinion of whether or not the forums or the world would be a better place if there were no theists.

Look at MK up there. He thinks I don't believe in fairies..because I'm a racist...bless his heart...lol. He's babbling about a final messenger when there was no -first- messenger. That's theism for you.

In your estimation..do we need more or less of that sort of shit? Would the world be worse..or better off...in the absence of theists?
