Men regarding women are (to be) up lifters (moral support) by which God has cause some of them to excel others and by what they spend of their money, the good women therefore obedient (to God), guarding the hidden as God has guarded and those who you fear disloyalty (instead of acting on fear),do not talk to them (about it) and leave them (alone about this) in the beds and (continue to) have intercourse with them

Many hadiths that say never to try to discipline a human by beating or hurting them.
Many hadiths that forbid beating wives.
A verse in Quran says not to treat your wives unkindly.
Aside from that, is verses teaching not act on suspicion and here it says "fear" and not "know".
And so if a wife obeys a husband as far the commands husband has a right to command, it says to not impose this fear they may have upon them. Going back to the beginning of the verse, it's defining men to be moral supports or lifters regarding women, that they bring them up and not down, and so this is saying, so in this regard, if you fear rebellion from them, don't act on your fear and don't impose your suspicion on them, instead don't talk to them about it, leave them in their bedrooms regarding it, and continue to have intercourse.
