As God would expect humans to do, and so the word tharaba should be interpreted in the same way when it says "and when you touched women" even though that line is always seen as an expression of intercourse, tharaba should be seen in that light, and God created males and females, and so he expects us to interpret his words in the best positive manner on how to relate to each other.

The moral and signs of the book cannot go against proven and clear signs within the soul, Muslims would be obligated to reject that verse in this case, just as Christians and Jews were expected to leave the parts of their scriptures that contradicted reason and morality.
